Akuna Bay Cruising Club

Peat's Bite, another wonderful lunch !!

Tuesday 09 May, 2006

April Fool's Day saw some forty members and friends cruise up the Hawkesbury to Peat's Bite for our annual Club visit. Sadly the marina was barely usable, so all Club boats wisely decided to anchor off the restuarant, where Tanya provided a tender service to get us all ashore.
Once ashore however, the marina was forgotten and we were again treated to the "Peat's Bite" experience of wonderful food and wine, great atmosphere and fabulous fellowship, with the usual dash of live music and song.
The cold wind provided a bit of a change to the usual pleasant conditions and sent many scurrying back to their boats for additional clothing. However as the afternoon progressed, the wind relaxed a little and we headed homeward in very pleasant conditions.
The day finished with a few Club raft-ups in America and Refuge Bays. All in all another very successful Club function.
