Akuna Bay Cruising Club

New Committee cruises in.........

Monday 29 August, 2005

Perfect weather conditions prevailed on the Sydney Harbour for the Annual General Meeting of the Akuna Bay Cruising Club on Sunday August 28th.
The huge sailing catamaran "Aussie Magic" left the aquarium wharf at 12.00noon for a 4 hour cruise, with 50 Club members enjoying the splendour of the harbour on what could appropriately be described as a magical day.

The formalities were brief and saw a "changing of the guard", with Stephen Smith being elected as the new Commodore with Scott Murray as Vice Commodore. Mike McLaren become the new Secretary and Wendy has also joined the Committee. James Vale remains as Public Officer, Marcia Southern will continue as Treasurer. Frank and Janet Gardner, Keith and Jenny Turner, along with Harry Nicol make up the rest of the Committee. With the 'new blood' on board, we can be assured of new ideas and renewed enthusiasm, which will ensure the continuing success of our great club.

The harbour cruise presented a wonderful opportunity for a Club get-together and we had Leif Albertson along to give us a brief talk on the joys of "coastal cruising", something that can make our boating a lot more fulfilling. As usual Leif spent a lot of the day sharing his vast boating knowledge with many Club members.

All in all, a wonderful day, thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended and a great start for what promises to be another exciting year for the Akuna Bay Cruising Club.
