Akuna Bay Cruising Club

Another great AGM on the Harbour

Wednesday 27 August, 2008

Though the weather wasn't too clever, the venue was more than comfortable as we cruised around Sydney Harbour enjoying a wonderful meal and a few drinks, with some wonderful friends. Oh, and there was our Annual General Meeting in there somewhere as well.
Unfortunately our esteemed Commodore Steve was unable to attend due to a recurring (and very frustrating for him) back problem. Vice Commodore Kim Murray and Secretary Jeff Sheehan took control of the meeting with much mirth. Though we did comply with all the necessary formalities amongst the laughter. It's always a great day out.
Steve Smith was once again voted unanimously as Commodore (a glutton for punishment?). The rest of the Committee remains unchanged, though Wendy and Warren Armour have now joined, thanks guys, new blood is always welcome.
When the cruise finished, there was a gathering of members in the Pontoon Bar, followed by the bus trip back to Akuna Bay, as Kim Murray had cleverly organised a bus to Darling Harbour for the meeting. Many members took advantage of this.
A fitting conclusion to the day was an impromptu pizza dinner in the Club Room, with a group 'partying on' until 'about half past something'.
