Peat's Bite Lunch - sorry if you missed it!

Wednesday 18 April, 2007

Peat's Bite once again provided the venue and the atmosphere for another great Club function.
Perhaps the only disappointment was the lack of numbers, we only had 20 members present, a far cry from the 40's and 50's we've had on previous occasions. However the lack of numbers was more than compensated by the fun and fellowship shared by those attending.

Most of us departed Akuna at about 10.30am for the pleasant cruise up the Hawkesbury, arriving at about 12noon for a 12.30pm start. We all chose to drop anchor off the "marina", rather than risk damaging our boats on this rapidly deteriorating facility. This was no real problem as we were happily tendered to shore by the ever friendly Peat's Bite staff.

As always, the food and service were excellent, but even more excellent was the weather and the enjoyment shared by the Club members. The Cruising Club always receives a special welcome from Tammy and her staff and this visit was no exception, the warmth and friendliness always help to make this a special function. We were all reluctant to leave after lunch, so Jeff and Trisha kindly berthed "Cool Change" in the "marina", which became the evening social venue, where we enjoyed cocktails and nibbles till about 9.00pm, before returning to our respective vessels for the night.

Sunday saw us wake up to a perfect Hawkesbury morning and the enjoyment continued, with bacon and eggs shared on a few vessels before meandering back to reality and Akuna Bay.

Another wonderful experience shared by (too few) members of our Club. Check the Photo Gallery.
