Pureseal antifouling - a new trial will begin shortly
17-Jul-06
Since my last publication, there has been a lot of to and fro-ing with the local distributor. My test panels have been a total failure and it as if NO coating was applied at all.

Latitude Dancer & Dionysus.....Part 3 (still going north)
04-Jul-06
Friday June 2nd, it was time to leave Lady Musgrave Island, so at 8.30am we upped anchor and carefully head for the opening in the reef, and the trip to Gladstone, about 50 miles west.

Barry & Marcia try sailing
19-Jun-06
Well they say a picture tells a thousand words or something like that, which helps because I am not great at stringing two words together but I couldn't let such a great boating day go by without firstly a big thank you to the Skipper and First Mate (also known as the Commodore of the Akuna Bay Cruising Club and his highly qualified wife Kim) for a sailing experience to remember.

Pure Seal - BIG disappointment!
18-Jun-06
After only two months in the water, I have to report a total failure of antifouling activity with the above product. Fine algae did come off, but that was all. Growing on the material was branching algae, which was firmly rooted in the material.

Latitude Dancer & Dionysus.......Part 2 (still going north)

14-May-03
Scott and I wanted to go to the Peat's Bite lunch on 12th April but how were we going to get there?

What a drag!
01-Mar-03
Last Christmas/New Year, down at Akuna Bay, some people, new to boating, were having a problem. No matter how hard they tried, they couldn't get their brand new 22ft boat going, despite the two powerful engines on the stern.

01-Mar-03
You never know what will and won't work when you buy a new boat until you use it as Rodney and I found out.

Take Charge Fishing report (Part 1)
01-Mar-03
Rumour has it that Take Charge (D13) is the only club boat that regularly uses its two tall poles for their intended purpose of trolling lures for game fish. That is not to say they can't be used for flying flags and hanging party lights from time to time.

Other Furry Issues

13th February is a special day for Harry & Jill Nicol being our anniversary. This year it was off to Cottage Point. We had a great lunch and were non stop talking about our 1st beach ball event.
