Akuna Bay Cruising Club

Commodore's Message

Tuesday 18 January, 2005

Well, what has happened to the last few months ?? All of a sudden Christmas and New Year are behind us and summer is half way gone.

It was good to see so many Club Members supporting Mike Gaffikin's "Riviera Night" on November 21st at Akuna Aura (I thing we made up half the numbers!). And what a sensational night it was, the food was excellent and Glenn Shorrock provided a brilliant floor show which got the whole place really rocking.
A big thanks to Mike and Sue for their efforts in putting this together as it was certainly one of the highlights of the year.

The Christmas Lunch at "Pasadena on Pittwater" saw 40 members having a great time in this unique location. Unfortunately our numbers were down a little on previous years due to some clashes with other events, however it was great to see those who attended having a seriously enjoyable time.

Particularly good to see some of our members venturing beyond Broken Bay, with Club boats sighted at Port Stephens, Sydney Harbour and Port Hacking over the Christmas break. If any members would like to share their some cruising stories, we'd love to add them to our News section.

You'll see that we have added a few events on the calendar, so please join in where you can and help keep the Club alive and active.
Remember the Club is purely for the benefit of members, so if you have any ideas or suggestions that may improve the Club, please make them known.

Meanwhile, may you all enjoy safe and happy boating in 2005.

See you on the water.
