Commodore's Update
Dear Members,
It's almost two weeks since we held our fabulous Annual Beach Ball at Hallet's Beach!
What a fabulous evening it was, with 68 seated for a slap up seafood feast. After a 6pm downpour just as everyone was arriving in their finery for welcome drinks, the weather moved off and it was an absolutely perfect night on the beach.
Keith and Jenny Turner and Rob Luck have posted some beautiful photos on the Club website and they are really worth a look. Simply log in, click on "photos after 2008", click on 2015 Beach Ball and enjoy the show.
Finally a very special thank you to all those who helped with the set up and pack up. There are a core group of members who do the heavy lifting but the extra helpers really do make a difference.
Finally, year 2 of catering was even better than year 1 and the feedback on the night was all positive. Dennis Stokes, you are a legend mate! Thank you so much for another brilliant effort.
Gosford Trip
The next cruising event is our 3rd Annual trip up to Gosford Sailing Club.
Last year's event was a great success with 8 boats heading up in convoy, with Gordon Riley leading us in. Again, I commend to you the great pics posted on the Club website.
This year's format is as follows:
Date: Saturday 18 April
Meet off Lobster Beach (just North East of Lion Island) at 8.45am and wait for Pilot boat to form convoy.
Pilot boat to guide the flotilla into Gosford
Tie up at Gosford Sailing Club late morning. We will again moor European style with anchors out front and stern tie up to dock. There will be plenty of help so even if you've never done this before it'll be fine!

Complimentary sausage sizzle on the Marina on arrival, followed by a relaxing afternoon on the Marina.
5.30pm Sundowners (complimentary sparkling wine) in the Club.
Dinner at Latitude 33 restaurant at 6.30pm. Dinner is 3 courses and if anything like last year will be a truly 5 star experience. Cost is $76.00 per head.
There will again be live music and dancing if you want to work off dinner!
Overnight on our boats on the Marina at a cost of $65.00 per boat. Power and water are available.
Breakfast is available from the new Tommy's Cafe, downstairs at the Club.
Low tide at Ettalong is 3.10pm on Sunday afternoon and Gordon will brief us at dinner in respect to return journey.
Please book with our secretary, Ian Franklin by email ianfranklin@ozemail.com.au or phone 041203934753 by 4 April.
Other upcoming Events:
Friday 29 May at 6.30pm in the club room, Frank and Janet's famous trivia night. Always a fun night, final details will be advised shortly.
Saturday 30 May, The traditional Peats Bite long lunch where we cruise up to Sunny Corner for a lazy afternoon with a sleep over at anchor. A popular event with final details shortly.
I am delighted to see quite a few new members in the ABCC and hope as many as possible join us for some really great fellowship and fun.
Kind Regards,

Bob Taylor,
