Akuna Bay Cruising Club

Commodore's Message

Friday 20 February, 2015

Dear Members,

After a somewhat roller coaster ride we currently have 68 starters for the Akuna Bay Cruising Club's Annual Beach Ball at Hallet's Beach next Saturday.

The Committee expanded the numbers up to 70 from 60 as in the first week we had 77 acceptances! As such, we currently have 2 spots available if anyone would like to join us (members or guests)

The weather is looking OK- The current forecast is for temps from 19 to 25 degrees with 80% chance of showers but only 1-5mm and SSE winds at about 5 knots. If accurate, this should be a pleasant evening on the Beach.

Plan B

If however, the forecast is badly amiss, Christine at Cielo Function Centre has agreed to allow us to use her facility, setting up our decorations, catering ourselves, and bringing in our own alcohol.
If we need to invoke Plan B , the Club will make an appropriate donation to Cielo.

At this stage it's all systems go for Hallet's Beach and unless we contact you on Saturday morning due to a big change in weather, we look forward to seeing you there for another great Beach Ball!

The usual crew will be on the beach setting up tents, tables and chairs etc. and any help, as always is most welcome. Many hands make light work!

I look forward seeing you on the night.

Safe Boating and Kind Regards,

Bob Taylor
