Akuna Bay Cruising Club

Commodore's Message

Monday 01 December, 2003

Firstly there was our "Champagne Chicken & Trivia" Night on October 10th, brilliantly organised by our own Rodney and Lynne Davies.

Then followed our "Information Night" on November 21st. where the guest speaker from Club Marine failed to arrive. Fortunately, Marina Manager Gus Pallott had planned to speak to the Club and his talk on customer service and future plans for the Marina made a most interesting substitute.

Saturday 22nd (the Commodore's birthday !!),
had 40 or so glued to the television in the Club room watching the Rugby final and eating Pizza. Very impromptu and a heap of fun !!

Sunday November 23rd then saw a group of us have a very long Lunch at Akuna Aura.

Then on Saturday, November 29th many club members helped make up 90 or so who attended the fabulous "Mariner/Riviera" Dinner dance capably organised by our own Mike & Sue Gaffikin at Akuna Aura. It was particularly good to see the Restaurant in full flight catering for such a group, it is certainly an asset to patrons of the Marina and deserves our support.

Next item on the program is the christmas lunch at "Il Piemonte" on December 13th. This is always well attended and is a load of fun, make sure you book in and join us for a good feed and some great fellowship.
